Restaurant Reviews

The Amazing Oriental Supermarket’s Restaurant
26th & W. Broadway

by Jim Nelson

Family owned and operated by a north side Hmong family from the mountains of Laos. They opened up the store about 4 years ago. Open from 9:00AM to 6:00 PM. However, if you get there a little too early or a little too late, they’ll still accomodate you. The family is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home in their cozy restaurant of just eight tables seating 6 people each.

The prices are very reasonable: 3 delicious egg rolls for only $2.00 to an entire roasted duck for only $12.00. Most meals are about $6.00. If you like what you ate, you ask to buy the ingredients at their store. They’ll show you what they used to make your meal. Very tasty at home as well. You may also order take out to enjoy at home

Pair-o-Dice Pizza
Upton & W. Broadway

by Jim Nelson

Opened 5 years ago on the corner of Upton Avenue North and W. Broadway Ave N (just across from Robbinsdale Animal Hospital), the hours are 10-11 weekdays and 11-11 weekends.  The owner was born and raised in North Minneapolis, now lives in Brooklyn Park but wants to support his old north side of Minneapolis.  They have a large menu including pizza, ribs, chicken and lots of other exceptional food.  They have the best deal on pizza in town for pick up pizza.  Just $8.43 for an extra large pepperoni pizza (any one topping pizza) and you can order as many of these as you want to.  Hours are from 11:00AM to 10:00PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:00AM to 11:00PM Friday and Saturday.
